Verne Drive-In FAQ
Do you know what you’ll be playing for the summer in advance?
No, we find out our movies each Tuesday and post them as soon as possible.
What time does the movie start?
The movie starts around dusk as it has to be dark enough for the film to show on the screen. Dusk varies throughout summer which is why we do not post a definite start time.
Do you accept credit cards?
We accept credit cards in the concession and ticket stands.
How do we hear the movies?
The movie is broadcast through our own FM frequency, 91.5. You need to have a working car radio or boom box to hear the movie. We also offer portable radios inside the concession stand.
Do you offer group pricing or discounted tickets?
We cannot offer group discounts on tickets as we have to follow film company license agreements. These do not allow us to discount our already incredibly low ticket price.
Do you still play the movie if it is raining?
Yes, we are open rain or shine!
When is the best time to arrive?
We will post on our Facebook page the approximate time we should open each week. Weekends are our busiest times, please come early to guarantee you get a spot!
Do you allow hatches?
Yes, but we ask you to park in front of the concession stand so you don't block anyones' view.
Why does the Verne Drive In have a no outside food policy?
Drive in theaters, as well as all movie theaters, count on concession sales to survive as a large portion of the ticket admission goes to pay the distributor for the movies. Most other business that sell food don’t allow you to bring in food and/or beverages either so we are no different!
Can I sit outside of my car in lawn chairs?
Yes! We just ask that you sit IN FRONT of your vehicle so that you are not taking up an additional parking spot.
Are pets allowed?
Well behaved pets are allowed as long as they are on a leash. It is the owner’s responsibility to clean up after them and to ensure that they are not disturbing other guests.
Where can I park?
The first 2 rows are reserved for small vehicles only. SUVs, pickups, etc. all need to park 3rd row and back with no exceptions. If you are parked in the wrong row a member of the staff will come out and tell you that you need to move.
